DSI PRODUCT NEWS

It’s been awhile since our last full-fledged newsletter, and we are proud to announce that 2002 marks our tenth anniversary! To help make this year memorable, we’ve been working hard on two new products.

In late spring, we will be offering the latest addition to our product line: DUMPStat Explorer. Explorer is a complementary program to our popular DUMPStat software, and allows you to investigate problem cases identified by your stats in a more 'qualitative' way. Chemical signatures are depicted with Stiff Patterns, and Trilinear Diagrams, while trends and relationships can be observed with Multi-Line Time Series Plots, Scatterplots, and more. We've designed Explorer to allow 'on the fly' analysis definition, giving you an interactive edge to better investigate your geochemical data through classical, familiar methods.

We're also overhauling the DUMPStat program architecture to create a whole new system, comprised of a database 'backbone' and different plug-in modules for a variety of needs. DUMPStat Explorer, DUMPStat's detection monitoring statistics, and CARStat's extended capabilities will all be converted to plug-ins, giving you unprecedented functionality with your existing laboratory data. DUMPSTAT ENTERPRISE will offer greater flexibility by allowing you to mix and match these and future modules with accommodating licensing options. We're working hard to ensure a smooth transition-and, as always, we'll be there to help if you need it.

Who’s in front?
If you wish to see a line that is obscured by another line (either data or limit line), you can easily flip the line to the front by clicking on that item in the legend to bring up the color picker. Even if you don't change the color and click on Cancel, this action will cause the line to move to the front. You may toggle the line order in this way for any line on the graph, for all analysis types.

CARStat demo:
So you have a DUMPStat/CARStat CD sitting around your desk and you're thinking of throwing it in, installing CARStat, and playing around a bit....Well, hold that thought! The older version of the CARStat demo had an expiry date coded in for the end of December, 2001. Please download the updated demo version from our website here or contact us and we will mail you a patch diskette.

Windows XP:
While we are preparing our full support for Windows XP, we have an unofficial pre-release patch that is available to users of Windows XP who are unable to use DUMPStat on a computer with a supported operating system. Please contact us if you are in this situation.

CARStat stats fix:
There has been a recent patch for the Comparison to Background analysis that corrects a labeling problem that occurred under certain circumstances.
